I went to Italy with my friend when I was a student.
After I passed through immigration, I was waiting for her to come through, but she was slow. Looking at her, I noticed that she seemed to be in trouble. The next moment, she was taken somewhere!!
The staff at immigration couldn't believe what she was saying. So they forced her to take a Japanese test to verify whether she is Japanese or not. She had to answer some very easy questions and write some easy words in hiragara and kanji such as 一 二 三.
After they found out she was Japanese, she was released. When I heard what happened there, I laughed out loud. She wore glasses instead of contact lenses and was so exhausted that her face didn't look the same as the one on the passport. Afterwards, when she said that she couldn't recall kanji or words, I couldn't stop teasing her and said in jest,
"You have been living in Japan for ONLY two decades, so you are not used to Japanese yet. Don't worry. It is not immigration here!"
My friend whom I met last night reminded me of this topic.

What if you like someone who likes somebody else?

My Friend in a TV Show!!
I found that one of my musician friends appeared on a comedian's TV talk show the other day.
The comedian was Sanma Akashiya!!!!!
I bet if you were living in Japan, you would be surprised to hear his name! I think people living in Japan for over a year must have definitely seen this comedian on TV.
In the TV show, she was just talking, not playing a musical instrument. I knew she sometimes appears on TV as a musician, but I usually don't watch TV so I didn't know what her latest job had been. She looked an actress rather than a musician.
I know it is the best way of acting of self-advertisement, but I'm wondering where she is heading to as a musician.

The Call at 3am
My co-worker has called me very late at night at around 3am, three times in the last two months. Even more annoyingly, he was usually drunk when he called. Since he seemed to need someone to talk to, I kept him company at first, but in the last call, I got tired of his excited and meaningless calls and finally said in strong words,
"Don't wake me up with your calls!
Don't call me any more when you are drunk at night!!"
I work free-lance so his days off and mine are different. That's why his calls were very annoying. If it was someone I'm caring for, I would be happy though.
I told him the same thing again in person, but this time more mildly at our work place afterwards. Since then, I haven't received any calls from him. I hope I never get a drunken call from him again.

No Offense!
This is a story from a Japanese woman who married a British man.
The day before their wedding, the groom made a wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums for his bride. Looking at the bouquet on the wedding day, the bride was lost for words for a moment. She had complex feelings because chrysanthemums are a flower for funeral services in Japan, but she was glad about what he did. I believe that 200 or more are used in Japanese funeral services. She attended the wedding ceremony with the bouquet without telling this to him. The wedding ceremony was closing in so there was no choice.
Ten years have already passed since their wedding. Since she has not told this to him, he probably doesn't know the truth yet. Someday, if her husband attends a Japanese funeral service, he might be surprised at the flowers if he remembers the bouquet he made.
Cultural differences sometimes cause sweet problems like this. If I were her position, I would not have been able to attend my wedding ceremony, which would be the biggest event in my life, with that bouquet because I don't like chrysanthemums!!

I'm kind of sad and very happy.
I'm very happy with my friend's words, but he lives in the different world from me.
so I'm kind of sad...
I wish I could have said the same things to him too.
In Japanese language, if you add a bar to 辛い, which means unhappy or hardship, the kanji changes into 幸せ, which means happy.
A word or a small thing makes someone happy easily, right?
Why am I afraid to say the thing like that to him?

A Hunch of Love?
My friend and I found a fortune teller in a street and for curiosity had our fortunes told. In Japan, it's easy to find fortune tellers in big cities late at night. The following was my result.
"Someone is filled with a lot of feelings for you and wants to know you more. He wants to be with you and wants to get close to you, but he is thinking that if he takes an aggressive action now, you might dislike him. That's why he may be undergoing emotional conflict. He and you will have the synchronicity shortly. This coincidence will happen again and again until you both feel that you have a special relationship."
Anyway, where is he? Don't hesitate to take an action, Mr. Someone!
